Yeah. They Did it again!

Great going Aussies.. My favorite team Australia brushed aside all the apprehensions that it may lose out in finals. After all it defies all logic how can a team not lose a single world cup match since the starting of the century (ie. since 2000). How can a team transforms itself to be invincible especially in situations when it matters the most. The simple answer to this is (what I believe) that this team performs its best under pressure. Unlike Indians , South Africans and many others they are not chokers. They don't believing in giving excuses. They spirit of team work and working for a common goal is so high that it virtually glares like a tiger into the eyes of its prey. Imagine India winning 2007 world cup and the great Sachin Tendulkar retiring , to make space for new talent. Its hard to envisage such a situation , for we Indians are not brought up to handle such situations . We generally prefer keep on dragging till we disappear in the oblivion rather than exit gracefully. Starkly it is evident in Indian politics too.
One should see our honorable HRD Minister, Arjun Singh. Vested with the power to develop the Human Resources of the country , he need two persons supporting him to walk! Hope he figures soon out that though the time has long past for him to retire with the magnificence of Share Warne or Glenn McGraath , but do we need another Kapil Dev (his exit was equally dull and prolonged).

It has been quite a long time since I posted something here. Seems like an eternity. So just to fill the gap! By the way the 2007 cricket world cup is approaching its close soon. So wishing my favorite team Australia all the best for the finals. Hope that the best team prevails.

This is something I tried online, and it turns out to be true for me!

You scored as Idealist. Idealism centers around the belief that we are moving towards something greater. An odd mix of evolutionist and spiritualist, you see the divine within ourselves, waiting to emerge over time. Many religious traditions express how the divine spirit lost its identity, thus creating our world of turmoil, but in time it will find itself and all things will again become one.

Muslims :Minority Or Majority

This struck me a couple of days back when after an exhausting day in office I switched on to CNN IBN for daily news dose. Some high court in UP had ruled that Muslims in UP are no longer a minority and thus the special status provided to them was being revoked. I felt that I had been hit by a stone after hearing this news. In a state where caste politics is the major factor for any political party's victory or debacle in election, such sort of ruling could have come at no worse time, with elections barely 3 days away. However the High court sensed its mistake in good time and the ruling was stayed within a day. Thanks God !! (Allah or Ram is same for me). "Minority appeasement" and "Minority bashing" are the two sides of the same coin. I heard a learned person saying this to criticize most the political parties who indulge in them to en cash the so called Muslim or Hindu vote bank.
Suddenly what flashes in my mind is a scene from a hindi movie called Krantiveer where Nana Patekar tries to show to a crowd burning in Hindu-Muslim riots what a person actually is. He is not a Muslim..He is not a Hindu..He is a human first. When God has not made any difference ( even the blood is same!!) who are we to segregate the society by religion. The effect of this scene is beyond my description. I wish people and especially politicians can understand this. If we can overcome this religion divide I am pretty sure our society can be a much better place to live in.
To finish this I vaguely remember the time when the Babri Masjid was demolished and the Kar Sevaks were demanding a Ram Mandir to be bulit in that place, I and a friend of mine (I think Atif Kareem) sitting in class 3-C came to a judicious conclusion that instead of a Mandir or a Masjid the govt should build a Hospital there. 15 years have passed since and the desire is still unfulfilled.

Spring Resolutions

Hey friends. I suppose I am thinking a lot these days about small things in life. Though they help me to analyze whats been happening to my life currently, however somehow i get this sinking feeling when I start reflecting about few things. One of them is what I plan to do next year. Currently being stuck in a software job , which has lost its novelty factor already , I am left with no choice but to do efforts for switching over. The obvious option that stares me on the face is CAT. Oh yesss.. The Elusive CAT. Recently I have changed my profile photo on Orkut also which will make me remember the work at hand. So at this date I have made a wow to myself that whatever come may , I will join IIMB next year.

Now to a some other resolutions:

1) Never take a train which will make me miss my flight and cost me a phatka of 4K (as happened on 14th Feb , Vday..aah dDay, 2007)
2) Never expect too much out of a marriage ceremony in UP ,for fights over small things do happen and continue to happen (12th Feb 2007)
3) Do let a person who is traveling for the first time in flight to sit near to the window, to avoid the uncomfable situation of him staring at my window, and me also, like he is in deep love with me(9th Feb, Indigo, Seat 4F). This obviously doesn't apply to ladies.
4) Never loose my cell charger again (13th Feb 2007)
5) Trust my brain more than my heart and my statement few days back that " Moments are more important than Money " is a total No Brainer.

How Humane I am

Hi friends. I have been seriously ill for past few days. It took some time before I could realize the age old saying that "Health is more important than Wealth". It called for a visit to nearby hospital and when even that didn't work I had to go to the famous Apollo Hospital. There what I experienced may be the reason why this saying "Ignorance is bliss" should have a second meaning .
All I can see was pain. I could hear was children crying, relatives wailing and advices from a battery of Doctors who looked like demi-gods to the patients. For a moment it let me forget my pain , but when I returned back to my senses , also returned the pain along with a fear that was getting into my nerves. The Doc came and as soon as he referred me for a blood test the words namely HIV and Elisa came alive in my brain. I was not sure how many years I had in my hands and still it was undecided . All I wanted was to run away from it but a close friend took me to the Pathology. A sight of this unit in the hospital again made me visualize millions of pathogens nibbling on something that was definitely human brain. I had been always known among my friend circle as a person who visualizes total crap things , and it seemed none of them was wrong. I tried to overpower my thoughts and somewhere in this conflict came a beautiful nurse. She was supposed to take my blood samples and In normal situations it would have been painless , due to LAFS (Love At First Sight). But strangely enough it did not happen. To me she seemed like a person with a lot of malice and one who badly wanted a share of my blood. She proceeded in her act of ripping my vein and blood oozed out of my body. I had to bite my tounge to keep myself from screaming and it added to one more mouth ulcer (mouth ulcers were the reason why i was there..) My blood was gracefully bottled by the vamp of this story and then she walked away with her prized possession, leaving me all in agony. I was told to wait for almost an hour for my blood report. One hour at an place which seemed none less than my graveyard. I wanted to wait for my report of griefs by sitting there. However my friend had some earthly plans in his mind. His earlier visit to this place made him know the exact place we had to reach. We made our way to the 2nd floor, to the nurse station. And like wonder struck me, all my pain went away seeing around 50 young ladies. I always wanted to be at such a place , admiring the beauties. In some time I lost count how many time LAFS struck me. The pain was all relieved and all i could feel was bliss. Suddenly my friend's push brought me back to the real world. Our presence was been questioned and my inability to speak anything , got my friend in real awkward situation. Rather than answering those ,we darted our way through a myriad of patients to safer territory where our presence would not be objectionable. However after a sort of humiliation we felt better to be outside the hospital. In my escape I am sure i had ran into my Doc, leaving him all perplexed. I spent the rest portion of my hour looking for any beautiful faces outside but without any luck. The clock struck 9 and I felt that my demise report would be ready. With a heart of steel , I proceeded to read the obituary of my pathogens or Me.Thankfully it was of the pathogens!
Half an hour had passed and with everything visibly under control and with almost each of mine penny spent, me and my friend were on the way back. So after an eventful evening we made our backward journey in Rs 10, and this was a real reason of jubilation.
